Tendons are found throughout the human body and play an important role in joint health. These tough fibers connect muscle to bone. The majority of tendon injuries, such as tendonitis, are treated with non-surgical measures. Patients are often told to modify activities and rest the affected joint, take over-the-counter medications and to begin simple range of motion exercises. If the symptoms continue, a physical therapy program may be prescribed.
