Each June, the United States observes the importance of work
injuries, fall prevention and much more during National Safety Month. This year,
the National Safety Council (NSC) is focusing on emergency preparedness,
wellness, falls and driving. As an East Texas leader in pain management, the physicians at
Pain Recovery Center of Tyler are available to assist Tyler, Texas residents
when it comes to a work injury, automobile accident injury or an injury
sustained during a fall.
Emergency preparedness - If you are the head of your
household, it is important you, your family and your home are ready for an
emergency at any time. You should use the month of June to make sure first aid
kits are fully stocked and in the home and car(s). You can also learn first aid
and CPR for both adults and children. Simple first aid knowledge can assist
with injury care if/when an
emergency happens.
Wellness - Daily life continues to become harder with work
stress, family stress, financial stress and health stress. It is important to
take care of yourself in order to help eliminate injuries and chronic health
conditions.
Fall prevention - You can help
reduce falls in the home and workplace by removing all clutter on the floor,
cleaning up spills immediately, installing nightlights for the dark and paying
full attention when walking and running.
